So you make calls, go on consultation sessions (more date nights) and give valuable information (give her gifts).
She has gotten to a point where she knows you, likes you and trusts you because you care. You want to always provide for her and be there for her and grant her every wish (lol, within reason). At this point, her love for you is endless. So you make your proposal to marry her and her answer is yes.
You keep doing this and instinctively, you know the right time to make your offer. You finally present them with the product or service and they are ready to buy. They act immediately.
This transaction happened because you have been able to help them win little victories and this has positioned you as the expert in your industry.
Truth is, you have not earned the permission to sell to your potential customers, up sell or cross sell or customers until you’ve built trust first. These days, no one buys anything from a complete stranger, especially if it’s not what you are looking for. If there is no trust here, there is no sale.
